Profile: Gary J Merrington MA
Established in 2000, Merrington Design has helped transform the Industrial design of a variety of companies. As a designer Gary J Merrington works with clients’ design and development teams in Hong Kong, China, Canada, USA and Denmark. Gary is also part of the design team at industry renowned Modelmakers and product development company Synapse-point7.
Gary is a 3DCAD Solid Works Certified user, training with Solid solutions management, covering Essentials and Advanced Surface Modelling. Other software used extensively over the last 14 years include: IronCAD 3D Solid & Surface, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop and Corel Draw.
Gary has lived and worked in Toronto, Canada with The Lenbrook Group as an Industrial designer. Prior to that he was principal Industrial Designer for Hi-fi and AV company NAD Electronics in London.
Gary received his Masters Degree in Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London. His Masters research project explored the creation of product differentiation in established product generics, and created principals & methods used to express brand values through Industrial Design.
Gary was associate lecturer at West Herts College teaching 3D Design for four years, during successful Ofsted inspections.
Gary has 14 years industry experience and a passion for new ideas, he is creatively driven and motivated. He lives in Hertfordshire with his Wife and three Children. Gary is a member of British Design Innovation.
