Brand Owners: Are your products designed using the Golden Section? The following is a brief overview of some less known benefits and facts that design can bring to your products and business.

Golden Ratio: Research has proven that human perception finds shapes drawn with these proportions are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, what's more consumers will always chose an item with these proportions over an item that does not have them. Take a square of any size...add a rectangle 0.618 times the length of the square and...you get a rectangle in proportion of the Golden Section. Below is an example of how I used the Golden Section in my work for NAD Electronics Intl. for their Masters Series range of products. All of the dimensions were calculated using Fibonacci's series. Design Langauge: As a brand owner you will be very aware how important it is that your product range communicates on both a conscious and sub-conscious level to consumers. The Design language of your products is important to project an image that fits your brand's core values. Design language goes much deeper than most of us realise, the connotations of a product, it's packaging and marketing must be carefully considered and designed to communicate effectively in our 21st Century global market place.
